My approach to de-escalation involves staying calm, maintaining a non-threatening posture, and using verbal techniques to diffuse tension. I speak in a calm, soothing tone and avoid interrupting the resident. I validate their emotions and acknowledge their perspective, which helps to reduce their anxiety. If necessary, I involve other team members or seek guidance from a supervisor to ensure the situation is handled safely and effectively.

Ensuring resident well-being and safety involves a combination of proactive measures and responsive actions. I conduct regular check-ins with residents to monitor their physical and emotional health. I also follow established safety protocols, such as conducting fire drills and ensuring emergency exits are clear. In the event of an emergency, I remain calm and follow the facility's emergency procedures to protect residents and staff alike.
