I have spent the last three summers working as a camp counselor at a local day camp, where I was responsible for planning and leading activities for children aged 6-12. This experience reinforced the importance of being prepared for emergencies and maintaining clear communication among staff.

I employ a proactive approach by setting clear expectations and rules at the beginning of each activity, using positive reinforcement to acknowledge good behavior. For challenges, I focus on redirection and problem-solving with the children involved, rather than punitive measures. Building strong relationships with each camper allows me to understand their individual needs and motivations, which helps in managing the group dynamic effectively.

Safety is my top priority, and I achieve this by being vigilant and attentive at all times, conducting regular headcounts, and ensuring that all activities are age-appropriate and supervised. I am certified in CPR and First Aid, and I make sure to familiarize myself with each child's medical needs and allergies. Additionally, I maintain open communication with other staff members to quickly address any potential safety concerns.
