My motivation stems from a deep-seated desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. Witnessing the challenges they face, I felt compelled to advocate for their rights and well-being. This role allows me to combine my passion for social justice with my skills in counseling and crisis intervention, ensuring that children have a safe and nurturing environment to grow up in.

I manage emotional stress by maintaining a strong support network of colleagues and supervisors, engaging in regular self-care practices, and setting healthy boundaries. Recognizing the importance of mental health, I also seek professional supervision when needed. These strategies help me stay resilient and focused on providing the best care for the children and families I serve.

In one instance, I had to recommend the removal of a child from their home due to severe neglect. Despite the parents' love for their child, the living conditions were unsafe. This decision was made after thorough assessment and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, always prioritizing the child's safety and best interests. It was challenging, but necessary to ensure the child's immediate and long-term well-being.

Building trust starts with empathy, active listening, and transparency about the process and my role. I acknowledge their feelings and concerns, emphasizing that my goal is to support, not judge. By consistently showing up, following through on promises, and involving them in decision-making, I gradually break down barriers, fostering a collaborative relationship focused on the child's best interests.
