My inspiration came from witnessing the compassionate care my grandmother received during her final days. The hospice team's ability to provide comfort and dignity in her last moments deeply moved me, leading me to pursue a career where I could offer similar support to patients and their families.

I manage emotional challenges through self-care practices such as regular exercise, mindfulness, and maintaining a supportive network of colleagues and friends. Additionally, I find fulfillment in the small victories, like easing a patient's pain or providing comfort to a grieving family, which helps balance the emotional toll.

Effective communication involves active listening, empathy, and clear, concise explanations. I ensure that patients and families understand their options and feel involved in decision-making. Using plain language and validating their feelings helps build trust and facilitates open dialogue.

Prioritizing care involves assessing immediate needs such as pain management, emotional support, and family involvement. I collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive care plan that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, ensuring that all aspects of care are considered and prioritized.

One challenging case involved a patient with severe pain and resistant to medication. I worked closely with the nursing team to adjust the medication regimen and introduced non-pharmacological methods like music therapy.
