I was drawn to this position because of my passion for working with adults who need day-to-day support and my desire to gain hands-on experience in a caregiving environment. I believe this internship will provide me with the opportunity to develop my skills in patient care, communication, and teamwork, while also making a positive impact on the lives of participants. My academic background in social work and previous volunteer experiences have prepared me to contribute effectively to your team.

In such situations, I would first ensure the safety of the participant and others around. I would approach them calmly, using a soothing tone to de-escalate the situation, and try to understand the root cause of their distress. Drawing from my training in conflict resolution and empathy, I would listen actively and reassure them, offering solutions or distractions as appropriate. My priority would be to restore a sense of calm and comfort, seeking assistance from a supervisor if the situation requires further intervention.
